Serve

Once you truly Love God….your transformed heart begins to pull you towards being in service.  Below are some ways you can start to serve.

Each of us have gifts and we are called to serve.  I suggest looking at the below list and then talk with me about how best you can serve.  The list is by no means exhaustive of how You can be in service for Him. Do not be limited to this list.

Yes you can serve inside the church by being in the choir or being an usher or greeter, but at the New Moyock United Methodist Church we look at how many are being in service outside the church walls.  Disciples are in service.

Here is a list to get you started:

Church Food Closet, Scouting both boys and girls, Angel Tree, Congregational care,  Prayer Warriors, Community Veterans and Memorial Day worship services team, Hospital and Home bound visit team, Humble Beginnings Liaison team (Day Care), Women and Men fellowship teams, Currituck Kids, Prayer Shawl, Men and Women’s groups, Sonshine Gang, Stop Hunger Now, Teen Challenge, Dare Challenge, Hot Line and more……

CHURCH PANTRY – Coordinator, Natalie Phillips – 252-435-6648 This is a small food pantry within our own church that depends solely on contributions  for its continuation.  Food is given to not only walk-ins but also to families in Humble Beginnings Day Care. Cash donations, rather than food, are preferred.  If food donations are desired, the inventory items  needed are posted on the door of the cabinet in our church kitchen which houses the    food bags until they are delivered.  Cash or check contributions can be made out to  MUMC and designated for the “church pantry.”

BACKPACKS FOR KIDSCoordinator, Ellen Owens – 252-232-2262  The Currituck County Extension Foundation conducts a food program for kids that gives the need kids a backpack full of food on Fridays that will feed them over the    weekend.   These children are selected by the Guidance Counselor based on need.    This program now partners with the Albemarle Food Bank who provides kits of food..  The cost of each kit is $4.68.  The best way to give donations is to send   cash to purchase these kits.  The check should be made out to Currituck Extension    Foundation and sent to 120 Community Way, Barco, NC  27917.

Music Ministry with our Praise Band Campfire Christian Revival and Choir who are taking music outside the church. See this video clip of CCR at a fund raiser last summer in Grandy, NC.

We are all in ministry together and we value your participation.

Come help us make a difference in the community of Moyock and beyond.
