Life Groups !Life Groups: WHAT IS A LIFE GROUP?

A Life Group is a smaller group of people within our church who meet regularly to establish a sense of community to live out the reality of the Christian life on a day-to-day basis. The mission of LiFE Groups is to grow Christ-centered communities through loving relationships. The benefits of participating in a LiFE Group are far reaching. In the context of this smaller “spiritual family” you will be able to establish deeper relationships in a warm and safe environment. You will be accepted for who you are while at the same time encouraged to reach your full potential in God. This small group will be a care-giving community as well as a place to grow in areas of serving others. The Church is God’s chosen vehicle for the operation of His love and His grace in the earth. The power and work of the Holy Spirit through a dynamic church is how God gets things done – it’s how He builds His kingdom. Scripture and church history have taught us that the most effective model for a dynamic church body, which consistently administers the love of God, comes in the form of small groups. This interpersonal relationship model was the basis for vibrant Christian life and growth in the New Testament Church. Can you start one today? See the pastor as groups are now forming to start in September.

Christian Education: New Sunday School Classes Begin September 9th. Registration starts next week. Programs for the children and youth will continue with Cathy Morris, Linda Brown and Don Marler. New class offerings for Adults are as follows:

Charlie Morris will be offering a journey through the book of Acts. Why Acts? It follows the lives of the Apostles and lets you see ministry in action after Jesus ascended into Heaven. We are an Act 2 Church. What does that mean. Be inspired by the lives of these first century Christians.

Tom Santa will take you into a journey of Being a Christian in the tradition of John Wesley the founder of Methodism. Learn what it means to be a United Methodist with a life of belonging, believing ,living and growing.

Mary Danko will lead a book study called: The Shelter of God’s Promises by Sheila Walsh. Where do you turn for shelter in the worst storms of life? You know God’s promises, but are they for you? Now? Under these circumstances? You will learn all about the Promises of God. Come and encounter Jesus.
